Guildford Flames continued their good run this season in Coventry with an emphatic 5-1 win over the Blaze on Saturday night.

The deadlock was broken quickly in this game, with the Blaze going ahead at 2:34 - Janne Laakkonen fed in Jonny Curran who beat Kevin Lindskoug with a nice finish. Five minutes late, Jake Bolton found the top shelf of CJ Motte's net from the point to tie things up.

Dane Gibson almost put the Blaze back ahead early in period two but was beaten to the final touch by Lindskoug. Brett Ferguson fed nicely to an unmarked Levi Cable in the slot to make it 2-1 at 25:52, and just 44 seconds later he struck again in front on a loose puck to put the Flames 3-1 ahead.

Jordan Cownie tipped Jake Bolton's blast from the blueline past CJ Motte at 47:39 to put the Flames into a 4-1 lead, while Ian Watters rounded off the scoring with 6:46 to play to give the Flames a win which ended their four-game slide.
