Stars hit back with derby win over Clan

A night after losing to rivals Glasgow Clan to a last-minute goal, Dundee Stars returned home on Sunday night to beat their Scottish rivals thanks to three goals inside the final 10 minutes live on Premier Sports.
Quinn O'Brien opened the scoring 3:36 into a lively opening period when he pounced on a broke which broke kindly to him in the slot. Colton Yellow Horn tied the game with a tip on a Mathieu Roy shot at 11:48, while Braylon Shmyr finished off as the Clan capitalised on a bad turnover to take the lead at 15:28.
With six seconds left in the first period, Charlie Combs beat Starrett while the Stars skated 5-on-3 to make it a tied game at the first intermission.
Kalvis Ozols put the Stars ahead on the powerplay with the only goal of period two, but the drama was all to come in the third.
9:57 was left on the clock when Yellow Horn blasted past Brython Preece to tie the game pon the powerplay. After a scuffle in the corner, the Stars came out on a two-man advantage and wasted little time going back ahead with a rocket from Ozols at 52:47. Clan were assessed a series of minor penalties for abuse of officials with 2:36 to go, and that led to Charlie Combs setting up Gabriel Desjardins for the close-range tap-in.
Kyle Haas put the icing on the cake for the Stars with a goal in the slot with three seconds left on the clock.
