Storm left the Skydome with a shootout win after tying the game in the final period- a game which also saw both goaltenders end the night with identical 97.14% save percentages.

The two points moved Manchester back to within five points of a playoff place, but with the asterisk that they've played one, two, and three games more than Guildford, Glasgow and Coventry respectively. Tonight is Storm's 44th game of the 54-game season, meaning they desperately need to pick up as many points as they can to be in with a chance of making the post-season - especially as they will face title-chasing Belfast on Sunday, and their rivals Sheffield another five-times over their final ten games.

Of the three teams all tied on 38 points, Coventry join Glasgow in the healthiest position having played less games than the sides chasing them. With Dundee not in action tonight, the Blaze could end the evening fifth but could also drop to seventh if Clan pick up road points. While none of these teams have confirmed their place in the playoffs, restriction Manchester to a zero-point game tonight would take them another step closer.

The two sides have a win each in Manchester this season, while the blaze edged their series in Coventry 2-1.
