The Flyers' recent form and has been good, and if the league season only started 15 games ago they'd find themselves sixth with 16 out of 30 points. However, the slow start has cost them and they find themselves nine points off a playoff place heading into a weekend where they'll face the teams second and third in the standings.
Ahead of the visit of Sheffield in Kirkclady on Sunday, Cardiff are the Flyers' opponents tonight. The Devils came from two behind to beat Glasgow on Friday night and, barring one of the teams above them really seeing a downturn in form, are essentially locked in for third place. They began their journey to Scotland immediately after yesterday's win.
Both teams have a win each in the Auld Barn this season, while the Devils won all three of their home games against the Flyers.
