The Flames' Tuesday night win over Fife lifted them up a place into seventh and, more importantly, extended the gap over Manchester outside the playoff places to four points still with a game in hand over the Storm. Paul Dixon's team could end the night fifth if they win in regulation, but they have played substantially more games than Clan and Dundee.

Clan themselves go into this game trying to extend the gap on the teams below them and still with an outside shot of finishing fourth. Winning both of their games in hand on Nottingham would leave Malcolm Cameron's team two points shy of the Panthers.

Both teams have won five of their past ten games. Head to head, Clan got their first-ever regular season victory in Guildford on 19 March 2022, while on their own ice have a win and an overtime loss to the Flames.
