Panthers leave it late but manage home win

Nottingham Panthers got their first home win since 1 September thanks to a lte show against Fife Flyers.
The Panthers took an early lead at the end of a powerplay that came in unusual circumstances. At the first whistle of the game, the Flyers were assessed a bench minor for starting a different six players than their pre-game forms had indicated; Adam Deutsch the grateful beneficiary as he put the hosts ahead at 2:08. However, the Panthers have struggled to hold leads of late, and were again undone shortly after – Bari McKenzie with the goal at 4:39.
It was a goal each in period two Jake Hansen continued his good run since joining the Panthers, converting from Sam Herr at 32:08 on the powerplay. The lead held until 1:31 from the period break, but a bad giveaway from Danny Fick allowed Mike Cazzola to sneak in and shoot past Carr from close range.
It looked as if the Panthers' home curse would continue when Sam Jones fired home to put the Flyers ahead 1:03 into the final period, but a late Jon Rheault equaliser past a screened Adam Morrison brought them level with 3:03 to play. The drama wasn't done however - Sam Herr scored the winner from the slot with 46 seconds to play to give the Panthers the win.
