Sheffield Steelers ensured they stayed two points off top spot, with two games in hand, in the Premier Sports Elite League with a clinical display at Ice Arena Wales.
The visitors scored two inside the opening four minutes through Martin Látal and John Armstrong to take control of things on Saturday night, but only led by one as Jake Coughler got the Devils on the board with 2:29 left in a first period where the hosts also hit the pipework twice.
Excellent play by Justin Hodgman set up Tanner Ebrele for a rebound finish in close to make it 3-1 at 28:34, and then Evan Mosey went top shelf on a 2-on-1 break at 33:41 the Steelers were 4-1 up.
Robert Dowd made it five at 36:08, with Eberle then scoring again at 39:13, on the powerplay, for a 6-1 Steelers lead.
Brandon McNally pulled a goal back for the hosts at 39:25, but that turned out to be the final goal of the game as the Steelers played out the remaining 20 minutes without conceding further to log an important road win.
