League leaders Belfast Giants head into Glasgow on Tuesday night knowing they need to keep picking up points if they want to stay on top of the Premier Sports Elite League table.

A Friday night loss to Nottingham put the Giants back to just a two-point advantage over Sheffield who have a game in hand, meaning if all things were level the Giants would only be top on the regulation wins tie-break. While Belfast will face the Steelers three times more before the season is out, they don't want to be giving up any more ground.

After picking up a home shutout win on Thursday night against Guildford, Glasgow had a disappointing weekend. The Clan were beaten at home by Coventry and then lost in overtime to Fife, although the last-minute equaliser probably meant it was more of a point gained for Malcolm Cameron's team.

With a further game each against Belfast and Sheffield, Clan may well play a big part in deciding who wins the league title. They, however, are currently focussed on finishing fourth.

The sides have split their pair of games at Braehead Arena so far with a win each.
