Devils too strong for Stars

Cardiff Devils ran out comfortable winners over Dundee Stars on Friday night in front of another sold-out Ice arena Wales.
Cole Sanford opened the scoring at 7:13 before Justin Crandall shot through a screen to convert on a powerplay with 13:46 played. The Devils were three ahead at the period break thanks to Crandall's second some five minutes later.
Philippe Sanche made things interesting with the only goal of the middle period to ensure the teams headed into the third locked in a two-goal game, but any home fan nerves were cancelled out when Trevor Cox put the hosts back three ahead just 68 seconds into the final period. Brodie Reid then made it 5-1 some four minutes later as the game went out of sight for the visitors.
Brandon McNally finished from Josh Lammon's feed to convert shorthanded at 55:14, while Sanford rounded off the night with the finish on a tic-tac-toe play set up by Reid and Crandall with 1:40 to remaining.
