Cardiff Devils overturned a 4-3 aggregate deficit to reach the Premier Sports Playoff Finals Weekend, thanks to a 2-0 road win in Glasgow on Sunday night.
The Devils had been 4-2 down on home ice before Cole Sanford got them back to within one late, an dd=that goal changed the complexion of the second leg which was tight and nervy throughout with just one goal in it.
The game was scoreless through 40 minutes with clan unable to take advantage of a powerplay in either period, but when Colton Yellow Horn was penalised for boarding the Devils made their numerical advantage count - Jake Coughler one-timed Trevor Cox's pass to level the series at 47:41.
With both sides cautiously trying to find the go-ahead goal late on, Cardiff silenced the majority of the 3,327 crowd at the Braehead Arena when Cox slide Sanford's feed under Shane Starrett at the back post to put the Devils ahead on aggregate.
Clan had a couple of offensive zone faceoffs as the clock ticked down, and went 6-on-4, but they fell at the Quarter-Final stage when holding a first-leg lead for the second straight season. Cardiff, meanwhile, advance to the Semi-Finals after contesting the cup final earlier this season.
