Belfast Giants start their 2022/23 Champions Hockey League campaign on the road in the Czech Republic this Friday afternoon.
Adam Keefe's side will face defending Czech Extraliga champions Oceláři Třinec at 4pm in a game live on FreeSports.
When the Giants last played CHL in 2019, they beat Liberec 5-4 at home but were downed 6-1 on the road. Nottingham Panthers are the only Elite League team to have recorded an away win in the Czech Republic in the CHL when they beat Mountfield HK 4-2 in 2017. Cardiff Devils went down by the same scoreline to the same opposition two years later.
"Facing Oceláři Třinec is going to be tough," said Head Coach Adam Keefe. "They have a team filled with quality players, skating an offensive hockey game, and contending in the highest Czech hockey league since 1995 – we’ll have to be on top of our game against this opposition."
