Tonight: Storm and Panthers fight for qualification
Climax of Challenge Cup Group C
Challenge Cup Group C comes down to this game to decide which of these two teams will get the automatic place in the Quarter-Finals – and who will face Coventry in the ‘Play-In’ round.
The maths is simple: Manchester must win in regulation to finish second, and will do so by tie-break on having more overall wins than Nottingham; any other result will see the Panthers finish in the number two position.
The Panthers are the only team to have won at the Storm Shelter in the cup this season and are now on a run of two straight wins in all competitions. Manchester have not won since their game in Nottingham on the 23 of last month.
“It feels like an early playoff game for us. We didn't have a great showing on Wednesday, yesterday I thought we were better but needed to fire offensively and hopefully that comes tonight.” – Ryan Finnerty (Head Coach, Manchester Storm)
“We're going in the right direction. We're doing the little things, playing smart systematically and not giving up too much. The lines are going good and getting some chemistry, and we want to keep it rolling.” – Tim Wallace (Head Coach, Nottingham Panthers)
