Guildford Flames continued their recent hold over Cardiff with a 3-1 home win against the Devils on Sunday night.
In a game where all four goals were scored in the third period, it was the Flames who opened the scoring at 40:22 through Ian Watters. Joey Haddad equalised at 47:43 with a goal that was video reviewed for a kicking motion, but the Devils could only stay on level terms for 39 seconds – TJ Foster lighting the lamp at the other end to put the Flames back ahead.
A late cross-checking minor on Charles Linglet interrupted the Devils’ push for an equaliser, and although they could pull Ben Bowns for an extra skater it was Jesse Craige who fired into the empty net with 52 seconds left to round off the win.
