Panthers set to face Hungarian champions
Game 2 in Continental Cup
Nottingham Panthers could take a giant step towards booking their place in the Continental Cup final round when they face Ferencváros this afternoon.
The Panthers won their opening game on Friday, and with the top two qualifying for the final round a win against the Hungarian champions would move them a step closer to the next round - indeed, a win for both the Panthers and SønderjyskE would mean the group is complete with one game left to play.
Today's clash can be watched live here at 1500.
"Every day is a new game against a good team. We've been on a good streak lately and need to keep doing what we're doing. When we try to get fancy things can take a turn for the worst, so it's about keeping it simple and sticking to our game." - Jason DeSantis (Defenseman, Nottingham Panthers)
"Nottingham are a very strong team from a very strong championship with numerous quality import players. I’m expecting to see the same fast-skating style of play as how we play in the Erste Hungarian League, and we will see if our best will be enough against them. However, what we know for sure is that this tournament will give us lots of great experience, and we will learn a lot from these games." - Szabolcs Fodor (Head Coach, Ferencvárosi TC)
