Panthers slip to Hungarian defeat
Nottingham Panthers 2-3 Ferencvaárosi TC
If Nottingham Panthers are to make the final round of this season;'s Continental Cup, then they'll need to most likely beat host team SønderjyskE on Sunday evening after a disappointing loss to Hungarian champions Ferencváros this afternoon.
The Panthers found themselves a goal behind down just over five minutes as Gergő Nagy put Fradi ahead, although Brett Perlini tipping in form Jake Hansen's feed tied things up at 8:55.
That was unfortunately about as good as it got for the British side, who fell two behind with goals 63 seconds apart in the second period - Dezso Roczanov got the first of them, followed by Nagy again at 33:42 to give Fradi a 3-1 lead.
Sam Herr gave the Panthers some late hope with a goal 2:20 before the end, but it wasn't enough as Tim Wallace's side slipped to a disappointing defeat, and will now need to wait for the conclusion of tonight's other game before knowing what they need to do on Sunday.
