Coventry Blaze stayed strong at home with a 6-3 win against Belfast, extending the Giants' losing run to four games.
Belfast had marginally the better of the opening period at the Skydome and were rewarded with a one-goal lead after 20 minutes. Patryk Wronka’s smart play spotted a gap near side on Jamie Phillips which the Polish forward snuck the puck through at 8:38.
The Blaze were level at 25:18 with a shorthanded goal well-finished by Charles Corcoran’s deke after Matt Pohlkamp’s well-placed pass, but Bobby Farnham put the Giants back ahead at 31:21, A fantastic kick assist from Jonny Curran set up Charles Corcoran to level the game only 13 seconds later, and just two minutes after David Broll came in unmarked at the back post to put the Blaze ahead.
Jean Dupuy capitalised on Jamie Phillips being without a stick to tie the game 53 seconds into period three, but the Blaze were back ahead at 47:23 through Dillon Eichstadt. Matt Pohlkamp tipped Justin Haché's shot at 55:12 to put Blaze 5-3 ahead before Broll found the empty net with 2:27 remaining.
