Sanford returns for third season with Devils

Forward Cole Sanford will be back for a third season in Cardiff when the 2023/24 season gets going in September.

The 27-year-old has already posted a 22- and then a 38-goal regular season for the Welsh side, ending 2022/23 with 84 points in 72 games across all competitions for the Devils and being voted onto the league's second all-star team.

"We are extremely happy to retain Cole Sanford. As everyone would imagine, there was a lot of interest in mainland Europe, but in the end, he felt he had unfinished business here and his heart was still in Cardiff," said Head Coach Pete Russell.

"Cole is a competitor and a pure goal scorer. He plays with high compete and is a total gamer. He also plays with an edge and competes at both ends of the ice. Cole will play in all situations this season.

"In Cole we are adding a top end talent and one of the best players in the league, a total game changer."
