Hughes turns pro with Flames

5'8" Forward Ryan Hughes is Guildford Flames' latest addition to their 2023/24 roster.

Coming in from three seasons at the University of Alberta in USports, Canadian Hughes put up 47 points in 48 games over two seasons for the Golden Bears. The side collected the Canada West title during the 2021/22 season and advanced to the national championship tournament over the last two terms.

"Ryan is not going to be one of our bigger players by any stretch, but he is a good skater and can make plays," explained Head Coach Paul Dixon.

"He has had a lot of success in junior and in university and he is looking to be able to repeat that here with us.

"He is coming from a demanding programme that expects to be chasing championships and that is exactly the kind of culture we are looking for here and we think this is a place where Ryan can make a significant contribution to our plans."
