Sheffield Steelers moved three points clear at the top of the Elite League table with a big home win against Belfast.
Despite having the lion's share of the shots in the opening period, the Steelers led by just one after 20 minutes through Lucas Sandström from close range.
Anthony DeLuca doubled the lead just past the 28-minute mark before John Armstrong made it three 72 seconds later. DeLuca's second of the night three minutes before the end of the period ensured the home side would head into the locker rooms with a sizable lead after 40 minutes.
Armstrong making it five at 49:36 made the points more than secure for the Steelers with more than ten minutes left to play. Belfast's miserable night was compounded when David Goodwin saw a penalty shot come back off the iron with 2:20 to go.
