Glasgow Clan moved into fifth place with a shootout win over Dundee Stars in an exciting game in front of 2,293 fans at the Dundee Ice Arena.
Clan went a pair up in the opening period but couldn't hold the full, two-goal advantage into the first intermission. Gary Haden put them ahead at 10:43, followed just under three minutes later by Charlie Combs scoring against his former team. Those goals hollowed Haden failing to convert a penalty shot with only 5:45 played. With 4:48 left in the opening period, an excellent Josh Brittain reverse pass behind the net set Chris McKay up in front to put Dundee on the board.
83 seconds into period two, Clan had a possible goal review to see if the puck had crossed the line but to no avail. Dundee levelled 6:36 into a penalty-stricken period two. Spencer Naas followed up his own rebound and passed across the crease to Ryan Valentini for the tying goal at 26:36. After Combs and Drydn Dow had dropped the gloves, Brendan Harms put Dundee ahead with a powerplay goal 3:15 before the end of the period, having a couple of pokes at a loose puck before sliding it past Antti Karjalainen.
Combs' second of the night brought the Clan back level at 51:19 and both teams took a point with the scores tied after 60 minutes. Dow had arguably the best chance of overtime with a half-open net to aim at, but couldn't get his shot away.
In the shootout, Combs and Craighead were on target for the Clqan, with Naas and Valentini netting for the Stars as the sides traded some excellent penalty shots. Combs and Naas came out again to score in sudden death, before Craighead beat Carr and Karjalainen stopped Valentini to earn Clan the extra point.
