Devils set for Continental Cup Showdown

Cardiff Devils go in search of their first trophy since the 2022 Playoffs when they host the final round of the IIHF Continental Cup this weekend.

The Devils are aiming to follow Nottingham Panthers, who are the only British team to win the trophy. Last season, they ended with the bronze medal.

Guests at the Vindico Arena this weekend will be will be GKS Katowice of Poland, Danish side Herning Blue Fox, and Nomad Astana from Kazakhstan. The Devils were beaten 5-4 by Nomad in the previous stage.

They begin against the Kazakhs at 8pm tonight. Nomad have lost only two of their last ten games, but find themselves only third in the Kazakh league after 42 games. Cardiff sit second in the EIHL having played just one shy of half of their league fixtures for the season, but are already some 12 points off leaders Sheffield.
