Another team joins competitive fixtures for the 2024/25 season on Saturday night, with Cardiff Devils entering games for points after an extra week of pre-season.
The Devils host Glasgow Clan for their season opener, which will be Clan’s third road game of the season due to unavailable ice in Braehead. The Devils ended their pre-season with a 5-1 win in Nottingham over the Panthers. Both Cole Sanford, and goalie Maksym Duve, have both been cleared to ice this weekend if needed. Clan are still looking for their first win under Corey Neilson after a pair of defeats to Scottish rivals Fife and Dundee last weekend.

Belfast Giants make their home debut with the visit of Dundee Stars to the SSE Arena. The Giants left Scotland with four points from two games last weekend, beating the Stars 7-3 on opening night in Dundee as part of their perfect start. Dundee picked up a Sunday win over Glasgow to end their first weekend with a .500 record.

Nottingham Panthers make their competitive home debut with the visit of Guildford Flames on Saturday night. The Panthers were in Manchester on Friday, the same place Guildford opened their season a week ago. While the Flames went down to a 5-1 defeat, the Panthers came away with an impressive 4-0 win. A goal six seconds from time gave the Flames their first win of the season on Sunday in the reverse fixture against the Storm.

Saturday’s final fixture of the day sees Fife Flyers host Manchester Storm in Kirkcaldy. Both teams came out of opening weekend with a win each, although both will have been disappointed not to have picked up at least one extra on Sunday. While both teams opened their campaigns in the cup on opening weekend, this will be their first league fixture of the season.
