Mid-term Report: Glasgow Clan

Glasgow Clan have perhaps been the surprise package so far this season.
After a terrible opening weekend in the Challenge Cup, Zack Fitzgerald's side had an excellent start in the league and led it for several weeks. While they have slipped back a little in recent weeks, the team still sit fourth and will hope that players returning from injury will help them keep pace with those above them.
Head Coach Zack Fitzgerald gives his thoughts on the season so far in the video at the top of this page.
We've also asked British Ice Hockey's Craig Anderson for his thoughts so far this season watching the men in purple:
"Defining Glasgow Clan’s season so far, it’s perhaps better categorised as being “better than expected” after some weeks flirting with the top spot.
Zack Fitzgerald has taken the core of Pete Russell’s team from last season and looks to have made them better, with some impressive results coming against the traditional big hitters. Fitzgerald equalled a club record of eight straight wins earlier in the campaign, emulating previous coaches Drew Bannister and Ryan Finnerty before, but injuries have limited that sort of form, with as many as four or five players out, something that is bound to have an effect. The casualty list is clearing and what can’t be faulted, despite the adversity, is the effort.
It’s a close-knit group and some insiders have commented on how special a team this is compared to previous years. Whether that transfers to silverware is another issue, but it’s been a decent start for Glasgow so far, but big challenges lie ahead."
