Sunday: Two remaining unbeaten teams go head to head

There are only two teams still with 100% records at the start of the 2024/25 season, and by the end of Sunday that will be down to just one.

Defending grand slam champions Sheffield Steelers host Belfast Giants at the Utilita Arena at 4pm in a meeting between the only remaining teams yet to lose a game so far this season. The Giants have played five games, winning four of them in regulation and one in overtime. The Steelers, who joined the league season two weeks later after CHL games, have won two of their three opening games in regulation and another in a shootout. This is the Steelers' first League game of the new season with the three previous games being in the Cup.

At 5pm, two Scottish teams in need of wins meet in Dundee when the Stars host Glasgow Clan. The hosts were beaten 4-1 in Fife on Saturday night which extended their run of losses, while Clan went down 3-1 to Cardiff in their home opener. Clan have played two games fewer than other teams in Group B of the Cup, while the Stars are halfway through their Cup fixtures and have five points from those six games.

It's also Cup action in Coventry where Danny Stewart returns to the Skydome for the first time since leaving for Nottingham Panthers. His new side ran out winners when the teams met in Nottingham last weekend, but were narrowly defeated 4-3 by Sheffield on Saturday. Coventry, meanwhile, earned an excellent point against Sheffield a week ago, but were thrashed 6-0 in Guildford on Saturday night.

After an excellent six-goal, shutout home win, Guildford Flames stay on home ice as their attention switches to the league and the visit of Fife Flyers. The visitors ended a loss streak with a win over Dundee on Saturday, but have lost both of their League fixtures so far (in Cardiff and at home to Manchester). For the Flames, tonight is their first League game of the new season.
