Wednesday: Lots at stake in Cup and League

Midweek action on Wednesday night in Week 15 of the 2024/25 Elite Ice Hockey League season brings us both Cup and League fixtures with a lot riding on them.
In the Challenge Cup, Coventry Blaze could secure their place in the next round and eliminate Cardiff Devils in the process when the teams meet at the Skydome. Any win for the Blaze puts them into at least the Elimination Game, while the Devils need to win to keep their hopes alive - how they win will effect what they need to do in their final game against Nottingham Panthers just before Christmas. Both sides have a road win against each other so far this season.

In the league, Belfast Giants welcome Dundee Stars to the SSE Arena for the first time in a league fixture. The Giants have won both meetings between the teams in Belfast so far this season, both played for for Cup points. The Stars are without a win in Belfast since November 2021.

At the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, the Steelers welcome Guildford Flames as second visit third in the standings. Both teams come into this meeting off the back of a four-point weekend in Week 14, and whoever wins tonight will go into this weekend's fixtures in second. The Steelers won both Cup meetings between the teams earlier this season.
