Storm pick up vital win in Dundee

Manchester Storm made it a four-point weekend with an important 4-3 win over Dundee Stars on Tayside. 2,035 fans saw the seven-goal thriller at the Dundee Ice Arena that brought Storm back to within a point of the playoff places.

Owen Griffiths opened the scoring, tipping an innocent looking shot from Loren Ulett past Jarrett Fiske at 06:51. Brendan Harms equalised at 12:20 on the power-play, deflecting Ben O’Connor’s shot from the point past Evan Weninger. The Stars gained their first lead of the night at 14:06, as Drydn Dow sent a pass to the stick of Kameron Keilly who redirected the puck into the Manchester net to make it 2-1 heading into the second period.Owen Griffiths opened the scoring, tipping an innocent looking shot from Loren Ulett past Jarrett Fiske at 06:51. 

Alexis D’Aoust levelled the score at 25:55, backhanding the puck over the pads of Fiske and continuing his hot streak with his 17th point in the past 11 games.  A pass from Zach Tsekos found Philippe Sanche in front of the Storm crease, with the Canadian firing into a wide open net to once again regain the lead at 27:25. 

Cameron Critchlow took advantage of a fortunate bounce, finding himself alone in the slot with the puck and firing it past the Stars netminder at 34:38 to even the score at 3-3.

A goal-line clearance at one end led to Storm taking the lead. Tsekos threw a puck out from behind the goal line that bounced off Ryan Hughes' skates and rolled towards the net, however he reacted quickly enough to scoop it literally off the line. As play continued up the other end, a solo effort Grant Hebert set up Alexis D’Aoust for his second of the game, as he backhanded the puck into the roof of the net for the eventual game winning goal at 45:29. 

Dundee battled hard in an attempt to score the equalising goal, pulling Fiske to deploy an extra attacker in the final minutes. However, Evan Weninger stood tall, and Manchester secured their first four point weekend of 2025.
