Sunday: Four games across the day

There's a lot happening across Sunday in Week 2022 of the 2024/25 Elite Ice Hockey League season, with eyes on both ends of the table.

At 4pm, Sheffield Steelers host Cardiff Devils in what may be a game that decides who stays in the league title race. Both teams have slipped out of the top two in recent games, while the Devils have gone from first to third in a matter of weeks. Whoever wins tonight will end the week second, while whoever loses could be as much as 11 points off the league lead.

From 5pm, leaders Belfast Giants play their second game of the weekend in Scotland. They visit Dundee after a 7-5 win in Fife less than 24 hours earlier. The Stars are riding the momentum of home wins over Glasgow last week and Guildford yesterday, and have started to put a gap between themselves and the teams chasing a playoff place.

Also at 5pm, Glasgow Clan are home for the second night in a row when they face Manchester Storm. The teams are either side of the playoff line, and separated by three points in Clan's favour - with Glasgow also having played one game fewer. It's a game that neither can realistically afford to lose.

Finally, starting half an hour later, Coventry Blaze will look to end the week on a positive note when they host Fife Flyers. The Blaze have already lost twice this week in games where they would have expected to come out with points, while the FLyers were 50 seconds away from taking a point off leaders Belfast after a four-goal comeback - but conceded late to end empty handed.
