Remote Video Review in place for Cup Semi-Finals

Situation Room will make goal-review decisions

The Elite League will continue it's trial of remote video review operations for the Challenge Cup Semi-Finals, beginning tonight in Sheffield.

For all goal review situations (referee-led, or via a coach's challenge), the review will be conducted in the EIHL Situation Room, communicating with the on-ice officials. If the video is inconclusive, the game officials' on-ice call will stand. Should the communication fail, the on-ice officials will conduct the review themselves as they do in regular season games.

Major penalties reviews will continue to only be conduced by the on-ice officials.
