Cardiff Devils welcome Sheffield Steelers to the Vindico Arena on Wednesday night for what is likely to be the final time this season.

When the teams met before Christmas, this was the league-leading Devils against a Steelers side trying to chase them down. When they met a fortnight ago, the Devils overturned a two-goal aggregate deficit to make the Challenge Cup Final at the expense of the defending champions.

Fast-forward to the end of February where we now find ourselves, and the league title race is very different. Belfast Giants have a five-point advantage over the Steelers at the top, with the Devils 15 points off the pace with only two games in hand.

The Devils have had the Steelers' number at the Vindico Arena this season, winning all four games so far - Cup group stage, Cup Semi-Final, and two in the league. Cardiff have scored at least four goals in each of the games, and have taken the four games by a combined score of 20-8. Sheffield's last win in Cardiff was in January 2024, making it six straight for the Devils on their own ice against the Steelers.
