Cardiff Devils completed a 6-2 win over Fife Flyers in Kirkcaldy to reduce the gap on the top three down to four points.

The Devils raced into an early two-goal lead with two goals inside the opening 90 seconds. Jarrod Gourley made it 1-0 just 65 seconds into the game, while 17 seconds later Bradley Schoonbaert got onto a rebound at the top of Shane Owen’s crease to double the advantage. The Flyers struggled to get out of their zone for the opening seven or so minutes until getting on a powerplay, but Evan Mosey making it 3-0 with 2:13 left in the period made it a long road back.

A Jonas Emmerdahl shot that took a deflection in front of Ben Bowns was reviewed and then washed out for a high-stick in front, leaving the Devils three ahead after the opening period.

Cole Sanford finished on the rush 3:58 into period two to extend the Devils lead with Brett Perlini making it 5-0 at 30:01. The Flyers did finally get on the board at 37;22 with a quick finish in front from Kieran Craig to give their fans something to cheer.

Joey Martin scored the Devils' final goal of the night at 48:09, while Michael Cichy added another consolation for the Flyers with just over nine and a half minutes to play.
