It's a busy Saturday night in Week 27 of the 2024/25 Elite Ice Hockey League season!
After two straight losses, Guildford Flames are home to basement side Fife Flyers as they look to stay in sixth place. Those defeats and results elsewhere have left the Flames just a point above seventh. Fife remain rooted to the foot of the Elite League table, and after their midweek defeat to Cardiff are now guaranteed to finish there this season.

League leaders Belfast Giants take on eighth-placed Dundee Stars with both teams involved in different races in the final weeks of the regular season. The Giants have a four-point lead at the top of the table, with a game in hand, but have lost their last two games. Dundee are seven points clear in a playoff place after Wednesday’s win in Manchester – they’ll face the Storm again on Sunday in a game that could almost decide their playoff place.

If Coventry Blaze want to finish fourth this season, they’ll need to beat Cardiff Devils tonight at the Skydome. Both teams have won three of their last five in the league, and are separated by three points – with the Devils having a game in hand. The Devils moved back three points ahead thanks to their midweek win in Fife. It’s a big weekend for them, with the visit of Nottingham Panthers to Wales on Sunday.

Glasgow Clan play their second road game of the week when they visit Manchester Storm. The Storm lost a must-win midweek clash with Dundee on Wednesday and now find themselves seven points off a playoff place with two games in hand. Glasgow are now comfortably in a playoff place and are eying moving up the table – they go into this weekend, on the road, a point off sixth place.

The biggest game of the day takes place in Nottingham at what will be a sold-out building when the Panthers take on Sheffield Steelers. The Panthers missed the chance to go second when they lost to Glasgow on Wednesday night, their first defeat in four games. They are five points off leaders Belfast, although will face the Giants twice on the final weekend of the season. Sheffield come into Nottingham having thrashed Dundee after three straight defeats. They’re four points off first place with just ten games to play. Whoever wins tonight will go into the final nine games of the season as the challengers to Belfast.
