It's a full schedule of league games on both nights this weekend in Week 28 of the 2024/25 Elite Ice Hockey League season.
Saturday night kicks us off with five games, after which there will only be 36 regular season games remaining.
Cardiff Devils return to leave action after defeat in the Challenge Cup Final with the visit of Dundee Stars to the Vindico Arena. The Devils are unlikely to be in the hunt for the league title as the regular season nears an end, and are trying to make sure they finish fourth – with third not beyond possibility. They are the league’s best team over the last five games. Dundee will be on the road in both Cardiff and Guildford this weekend, combining two of their longest trips into a double-header down south. They head to Cardiff, a rink where they have won once already this season, six points clear in a playoff place.

Having played in Manchester on Friday night, Coventry Blaze head to Glasgow for Saturday night hockey. Clan, who are three points off the top six, will play two home games this weekend with Belfast Giants the visitors on Sunday. Glasgow’s good form since January has seen them close the gap on sixth down to just three points. The Blaze are in fifth with the possibility of fourth slipping away after Friday's defeat in Manchester - four points behind Cardiff, but having played two games more.

Manchester Storm are at home for the second time in 24 hours with the visit of title-chasing Nottingham Panthers to the Storm Shelter. Friday night’s 4-3 comeback win against Coventry left the Storm six points off a playoff place with only one game in hand and eight to play, giving them very little room for error. The Panthers go into this weekend four points off league leaders Belfast and with almost no margin for error in their final eight games of the season. Nottingham need to be within four points of the leaders heading into the final weekend to make their home and home series with the Giants count.

Second-placed Sheffield Steelers face sixth-placed Guildford Flames at the Utilita Arena. Sheffield have three points to make up on leaders Belfast and eight games left to play this season, leaving them very little room to slip up if they want to defend their title. Guildford, meanwhile, could still finish fifth if they’re able to put a run of wins together to finish the regular season.

The day’s final game, starting at 7.15pm, sees basement side Fife Flyers hose league leaders Belfast Giants. The Giants won the 2025 Challenge Cup midweek, shutting out Cardiff Devils 4-0. That win followed the Giants ending a three-game loss streak last Sunday in Guildford. The Flyers are rooted to the foot of the table for this season, but, with games against the Giants and Steelers still to come, they could scupper someone’s title hopes.
