Blaze close out with home win

Blaze win fifth in a row at home against the Steelers

Just 2 minutes and 50 seconds into the game, Blaze open scoring with a Brady Pouteau shot getting past Greenfield. Shortly after a huge chance for Luciani but he was denied by Greenfield. 03.20 sees the second Blaze goal of the night from Seitz, assisted by Luciani to take the lead to 2. Shortly after at 3.56 Steelers get on the board with a shot from Tremblay after a 3 on 2 chance, taking it to 2-1. At 8.35 Sheffield tie the game after a shot through traffic from Balmas, slotting in to the back of Robson’s net making it 2-2. Half way through period 1 sees the first penalty call of the night, Balmas sitting for 2 for tripping but Blaze couldn’t convert on their powerplay. Greenfield with a huge glove save just seconds before the end of period one to stop the Blaze taking back their lead. Neither team taking their feet off the gas at any point through the first period. 


First five minutes of period two was back and forth between each team, both netminders working hard to keep pucks out of their nets. Just over 6 minutes into the period Steelers take the lead to 2-3 with a Ciampini that flew over Robson’s shoulder and into the top corner of his net. At 26.44 Robson makes a huge glove save to stop the Steelers from getting their fourth of the night. At 28.20 Blaze tie scoring again to 3-3 with a shot from Amarosa, assisted by Seitz and Alderson. Steelers had chances to take the lead again with a powerplay at 31.17 when Cressey heads to the penalty box and later at 36.48 when Kennedy heads to the penalty box, but they were unable to convert on either before Blaze came back to full strength. Period 2 ends 3-3.


The one and only goal that came about in the third period was the winner from the home side. Chase Gresock off of the faceoff win from Regush would sail into the roof of the net with Greenfield unsighted. The Blaze would win their fifth in a row to close out the season.
