Nottingham Panthers bagged an overtime win against Glasgow to go up to third overall in the Elite League; the Clan however put in a spirited performance to bounce back after losing 5-1 at home 24 hours earlier.
Brett Perlini got the opening goal at the far post with 9:15 gone but much of the credit was due for Georgs Golovkovs for patient play to create the opportunity. Clan however hit back just over two minutes later with a shot that deflected in off Matt Stanisz to tie the game.
Against the run of play Chad Rau gave the visitors the lead eight minutes into period two, but the Panthers were able to respond a little over four minutes later when Sam Herr was left alone in the slot to fire home form Mark Matheson's feed.
Neither side were able to win the game in the third period, but on a powerplay for a Linder Springer high-stick, Jake Hansen was able to drift in at the back post and score the winner 68 seconds into the extra period.
