Guildford and Coventry booth took a point from their Sunday night clash at the Spectrum, but it was the Blaze who came away the happier thanks to an overtime win.
Evan Bloodoff's fine individual effort put the visitors ahead just over 14 minutes into the game, and it took until the next period for the FLames to equalise through Calle Ackered at 22:35.
TJ Foster scored a contender for goal of the week with just under nine minutes to go, but that was cancelled out when Andrew Johnston reacted first to a loose puck to tie the game at 56:29.
In overtime both sides had chances but it was Justin Haché who got the finner 2:43 into the extra period.
