Who'll end the season as top points scorer?
Five players in contention
There are just 36 games left in the 2019/20 Elite League season, and while Week 28 has only a handful of league games there is still a race on not just to claim the three trophies on offer this season - but who will end as the league's top points scorers this season.
Nottingham Panthers' Sam Herr currently leads the way with 59 points from 46 games. The Panthers' captain, in his first year in the EIHL, has scored 30 goals and notched 29 assists to date to sit on top of the league.
Cardiff's Joey Haddad is having a career year for the Devils. With 45 games played, the 31-year-old has scored 28 goals and assisted on 36 others for 54 points so far this season. His previous Elite League best was 50 in 2014/15.
Third in the current standings is Sheffield's Brendan Connolly. The Steelers' forward has 54 points in 47 games thanks to 26 goals and 28 assists this season. In his third year in the EIHL, Connolly has previously notched 57 and 60 points for Belfast and Glasgow respectively.
Tied for fourth in the current ranking are Coventry Blaze pair Luke Ferrara and Charles Corcoran with 51 points each. Ferrara, who has been with the Blaze since 2017, has scored a league-leading 31 goals so far this season and assisted on 20 others. Corcoran was a late pick-up for Danny Stewart's side after spending last season in Dundee, and has gone on to total 16 goals and 35 assists in his first year for the Blaze. He scored 52 points for the Stars last season.
Steelers' Marc-Olivier Vallerand (50 points), Anthony DeLuca (46 points) and Dundee's Kevin Dufour and Anthony Beauregard (46 points) are just outside the top five, but a big run to the end of the season could see them involved in the race too.
