Devils make it perfect home start
Cardiff Devils 5-3 Glasgow Clan
Cardiff completed a four-point weekend with a victory on home ice for the second consecutive night.
The Clan shocked their hosts by taking the lead through Nolan LaPorte after 3:36, although Cardiff were level inside ten minutes as Mike McNamee's shot form the point went all the way through. Some intricate passing saw Gleason Fournier finish as the Devils went 2-1 up and carried the lead into the break.
The only goal of period two was another effort from distance, this time Bryce Reddick's shot coming in from the point before being tipped by Blair Riley in front to make it 3-1 at 39:31. Matt Pope and Mark Richardson both scored inside the opening ten minutes of period three as the Devils led by four, but the Clan weren't done. Matt Pufahl and Mathieu Roy both got on the scoresheet to make it a close finish.
