The Sheffield Steelers will have the services of Brendan Connolly for season 2021/22, it was confirmed on Friday morning.
The 35-year-old was an instant hit at the FlyDSA Arena in 2019/20, putting up 55 points in 48 league games alone. He joined the Steelers after a 65-point season in Glasgow, and a 73-point campaign in Belfast in 2017/18.
In the Elite Series, the Alberta-born forward scored six goals and assisted on 11 others in 15 games. He has played for Team Great Britain at the last two World Championships.
"Bringing 'Conns' back was an absolute no-brainer for me," explained Steelers Head Coach Aaron Fox. "He’s definitely a core piece for us who plays the game on the edge every night and absolutely hates to lose.
"He brings leadership and accountability to our room and is someone I will rely on heavily to play in all situations. It’s great to have another piece from our Challenge Cup-winning team back and we know with him and 'Valley' there is built-in chemistry already there".
