The Guildford Flames have added young forward Jordan Cownie for season 2021/22.
Arriving from the Dundee, Cownie has played the majority of his EIHL career in Dundee along with appearances or Nottingham and Braehead - clocking up over 160 Elite League games qith a return of 80 points. In his last three seasons in Dundee, the 25-year-old forward has recorded 24, 33 and 22 points respectively.
Cownie also enjoyed five seasons in the EPL, the majority in Milton Keynes. He notched over 200 points in around 250 games in total.
“It’s always great news to sign another quality British player, especially one with a lot of years still ahead,” said Flames Head Coach Paul Dixon. “Jordan skates very well, competes hard, and you can put him on a line with just about anyone while asking him to play against top lines from any other team.
"Jordan is a great addition to our new roster, and we look forward to getting him settled into his role here in Guildford.”
Dundee-born forward Cownie added: "I’m really excited and grateful to be joining the Flames,” said Cownie. “It’s a club I’ve always had a huge amount of respect from my early years in the EPL. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the town and supporters. Looking forward to this next chapter and can’t wait to get started in September.”
