Another of the Dundee Stars' 2020 summer signings has re-affirmed their commitment to ice for the team in 2021/22.
Defenseman Craig Moore was on of Head Coach Omar Pacha's top Brit captures during the last off-season, but due to the season being canceled because of Coronavirus, the move never came to fruition. Fast-forward a year, however, and Moore is again ready to go 'home' again.
"'Mooresy' is a guy we recruited last year and again this year because we want to try using two British defenseman," explained Pacha,. “We saw that he had some success in that situation a few years back and with the progression of Kris Inglis, we are confident that those two guys can do the job.
“Now missing a year of hockey is difficult for any player but Craig is a guy who keeps himself in great shape and right-handed defensemen are usually hard to find, so for me it was important to get a guy like him to play on that side."
Moore made his Elite League debut in Dundee after spending several seasons in North America. He played over 100 games for the Stars before being signed by Cardiff, and then had spells in Fife and Glasgow. In total, the 25-year-old has clocked up over 250 appearances in the EIHL, and has 12 Champions Hockey League games under his belt.
"I am ecstatic, it has been a while and too long without playing hockey, said Moore. “It was a shame that the season had to be cancelled last year because I was really excited to get things going and to get back to Dundee, but thankfully we are looking good for September and I am looking forward to getting back at it.
"I have been really fortunate to play in some pretty amazing organisations and all of which have given me life skills, hockey skills and allowed me to grow as a person.
"So, now it is nice to be able to come back with the experience I have from playing with other clubs and bring that element of my game and knowledge to help the team here in Dundee."
