The Coventry Blaze have confirmed the signing of defenseman Nathaneal Halbert for the 2021/22 Elite League season.
The 25-year-old was born in Nottingham but has played all of his hockey in Canada, therefore is not counted as a home-grown player under EIHL rules.
Halbert has played seven AHL games over the past two seasons, following four years at McGill University in the USports League. He totalled 68 regular-season appearances while at school, scoring three goals and assisting on 16 others.
Head Coach Danny Stewart said of his latest signing: "Halbert is a big addition for our back-end. He’s very good defensively and another guy that moves well and can make plays going forward.
"He had a good stint after university in Laval, and although an injury restricted his game time this past year, he spent the whole time up in Laval and is now at full health and ready to get going with us in the new season."
