Netmidner Shane Owen will be back between the pipes for the Fife Flyers in 2021/22.
The 31-year-old will return for his third spell with the Kirkcaldy side after spending 2019/20 in Belfast, and the Elite Series with Coventry.
Owen made his EIHL debut in 2016 and helped the Flyers to 25 wins, stopping 90.8% of shots. After a year in Europe, he returned to Fife in 2018 and earned the club 30 regular-season wins while posting a save percentage of .912. Those performances led to the interest of the Belfast Giants, for whom Owen recorded 24 regular-season wins in 43 starts, and saved 91.7% of shots faced.
"We could not be happier to welcome Shane back to the Fife Flyers, I have worked with him for a couple of years," explained Head Coach Todd Dutiaume. "It was disappointing to see him leave, but we were happy for him to facilitate his goals in his career.
"We ended up with the opportunity to bring him back and this will be hugely popular with our fanbase. Everybody knows what Shane brings to the table – this is going to give us a huge boost at the back end and I am excited to be working with Shane again.
"I have never been able to say a bad word about the guy, he is a true professional and we cannot wait to get him in and get to work."
