25-year-old forward Guillaume Gauthier will be joining the Glasgow Clan for season 2021/22, the club reported on Wednesday morning.
It will be the Canadian's first year in professional hockey after spending four seasons at McGill University, and then having a year out from the game due to the pandemic. In 97 USports starts, Gauthier scored 32 goals and assisted on 42 others, good for 74 points overall. He was also over a point per game in 25 playoff encounters.
"Guillaume is a sniper," affirmed Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. "He had a great career in the Quebec hockey league and was a point producer as well as at McGill University, which has one of the best university hockey clubs.
"He’s always been at the top of the scoring list with his teams and has worked with some really good coaches in his career.
"He will be a guy we’ll look to to put the puck in the net as well as be a good powerplay player and play on both sides. We’re happy to have a player of his talent for his first year in pro hockey."
