Nottingham host Guildford this evening as the teams meet for the second time this season at the Motorpoint Arena.
The Panthers won the first meeting between the sides 4-3 during a spell in which they won five games out of six. Since then they've gone in a different direction with just three wins from their last eight games. Sunday's win in Fife, however, did lift the Panthers back into fifth, the same position they sit on points percentage overall at 58% from 12 games played. Home games have been the problem for Tim Wallace's side with only a .500 record on their own ice.
By contrast, Guildford's road form has what's been holding them back from going higher than second where they currently sit. The Flames have only two wins from six games on the road so far this season. Sunday's home win against Cardiff snapped a three-game losing streak that \paul Dixon's team had been on since going top of the table.
This sees the league's third-best powerplay (21.05% Guildford) go up against the second-worst penalty kill (75.51% Nottingham). These sides will also contest a Premier Sports Challenge cup Quarter-Final in January.
