It just wouldn't be Christmas without a sellout clash between the Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers, would it?
The two old rivals go head-to-head at 4pm in the Utilita Arena, Sheffield, in front of which is expected to be another packed house.
League leaders Sheffield extended their streak of not losing in regulation to eight games with Wednesday's OT win over Glasgow, and sit pretty at the top of the Premier Sports Elite League table with a six-point cushion. The Panthers meanwhile find themselves in lowly sixth but have games to make up after being placed in COVID-19 protocol. This is their first game since being released from that, and not having played since a 7-2 loss in Belfast on 12 December.
Panthers released SImo Suorata and Tommi Jokkinen before Christmas.
