Storm and Panthers in quick turnaround

Manchester and Nottingham meet again for each team's first game of 2022, 24 hours after contesting their final match of 2021 against each other.

Their New Year's Eve clash went the way o the Panthers by a score of 5-3 in a game that Storm agreed to play on the day when Coventry were put into COVID-19 protocol.

Tonight's fixture was put on the schedule after the Steelers were also put into protocol. Storm won the last meeting between the sides in Manchester 7-3 in the cup, although that came after the Panthers had won the three other fixtures in the group.

The Panthers' win yesterday took them above the Storm into fifth. The sides both have 18 points, but the Panthers have played to games less on 17.
