Dundee stars secured their first Premier Sports Elite League playoffs place 2017 with a commanding 5-1 win over local rivals Fife Flyers.
The Stars ended the night fourth overall and were set on their way at 13:13 through Spencer Dorowicz. Charlie Combs reacted quickest to smash a loose puck past Shane Owen at 30:28 to make it 2-0, but the hosts reacted less than three minutes later with Brandon Magee halving the arrears.
However, Combs' second of the night put the Stars two ahead at the second intermission.
Michael Poirier and Connor Sills added third-period goals to extend the lead out to 5-1 and avenge the Stars' 4-3 defeat in Kirkcaldy six nights before.
The teams meet again on Sunday in Dundee.
