A three-point night from Sam Dugga helped Cardiff Devils to an opening game win on the road against Sheffield Steelers in front of over 6,000 fans at the Utilita Arena.
The GB international struck 4:02 into the first period to put the Devils ahead. New signing Joshua Brittain doubled that lead 2:37 into the second (assisted Duggan), and although Adam Raška pulled a goal back for the Steelers they still trailed by two after 40 minutes - Duggan again the scorer with 32:16 played.
The game became very physical in the third period, but no further scoring ensured the Devils left Sheffield with the two points.
