Cardiff Devils made it two wins out of two to start the season with a dominating display against Manchester Storm at Ice Arena Wales.
Period one looked to be ending goalless until Sam Jardine, who had earlier hit the crossbar, fired home from the slot off a well-placed Brodie Reid pass with 22 seconds left before the intermission.
The hosts hit five goals in just over a ten-minute spell in period two to take full control of the game. Riley Brand and Marcus Crawford put the Devils 3-0 up by 27:42 before the Cole Sanford show started - goals at 31:00, 33:09 and 35:09 saw him complete a natural hat trick in a little over four minutes!
Cam Critchlow got Storm on the board with just over 11 minutes to play and make the score 6-1, but the Devils weren't gone and added two more through Brandt and Justin Crandall before the final buzzer.
