Late goal wins it for Stars

A late Elijiah Barriga goal, shorthanded, saw Dundee Stars beat Glasgow Clan in the Premier Sports Challenge Cup on Sunday night. 

Ryan Verrier put the Stars ahead inside five minutes, however that goal was cancelled out by Nolan Laporte 4:04 from the end of the period. Mitch Jones then put Clan ahead 4:04 into period two only for Colin Joe to tie things with eight minutes left in the middle session. Joe struck again with 31 seconds left on the period clock to put the stars back ahead. 

Gary Hadden's tying goal at 42:55 looked like it might be the only one of the third period, but with just over 90 seconds left in regulation the Stars broke shorthanded and saw Philippe Sanche's shot rebound kindly onto the stick of Barriga to win it at 58:27.
